THE CHILL FACTOR

What is inspiring you most at the moment

I’m forever inspired by retro images; Jane Birkin, Brooke Sheilds and Lauren Bacall are current favourites.  I’m also loving artist Camille Henrot’s floral installations; the pretty-modern mix appeals to my personal aesthetic.

What key style trends are exciting you this winter?

Thankfully longer length skirts and dresses are back with full-force, there’s something so seductive about a calf-skimming hem.  Checks are also proving to be a game-changer for winter; my wardrobe is already packed with every pattern, from houndstooth to gingham.

How would you describe your personal style?

A mishmash of classic and contemporary sensibilities; think bold prints and colours paired back with full skirts and chunky knitwear.  Always with underlying feminine appeal.

Who’s style do you most admire & why

I’ve always admired Iris Apfel’s ability to dress without restraint.  She inspires me to wear pieces that make me happy, regardless of trends and fads.

Do you have any upcoming trips planned?  Where to?

I’m heading to Poland for a wedding in August, I’ve never been before and can’t wait to explore.  I’m hoping to visit surrounding countries too; Austria and Hungary are at the top of my list.

Name 3 things you absolutely cannot live without?

I don’t think I could go through a day without my iPhone, sunglasses and lipstick.

A perfect Saturday for you would consist of…

Waking up without an alarm, then I’d head out for breakfast and a trip to the local farmers market for flowers and fruit.  A late afternoon dip in the harbour at Camp Cove before a night of beautiful wine and delicious food… ahhhhhh.

WEEKENDS IN MY TOWN

Best Eat… I adore Buffalo Dining Club in Darlinghurst for delicious Italian.

Best Drink…  It may be because I live a block away, but my preference is usually for Margaritas at Barrio Chino in Kingscross.  With a few tacos of course.

Best Kept Secret… Missy K’s delicious dumplings are my weeknight go-to.
